Bei der 79. Oscarverleihung 2007 gewann "The Departed" den Oscar für den besten Film. Martin Scorsese erhielt seine erste
Oscar-Auszeichnung für die beste Regie mit "The Departed".
Helen Mirren und Forest Whitaker wurden als beste Hauptdarsteller geehrt. Ein besonderer Moment war Ellen DeGeneres' Moderation, die für ihren humorvollen und lockeren Stil anbschließend sehr von der Öffentlichkeit gelobt wurde.
